Description of the development from the Assael web site:
Former Use: Redundant British Gas site
Gross Area: 24,700 m2
Accommodation: 276 apartments, 100-room hotel, retail use and the relocation and refurbishment of a local music museum
Construction Value: £60 million
Description: This former British Gas Site that once housed gasometers is currently being transformed into a multi-use residential and leisure development. It has been designed in accordance with a planning brief issued by the
local authority as part of their plan to regenerate Brentford's riverside. Render panels, terracotta and glass make up both the private and social accommodation, most of which have river views.

Capital West is situated on the site of the old Brentford Gas Company,
originally formed in 1821. The gasometers could still be seen up until
the late '80s.
In this image St George's Church can be seen to the left
of the large gasometer.
