News detail Meridian tower, when finished, will become the highest element of the high street development, and will sit next to a central plaza and a number of water features, and offer residents of the 31 apartments views across the Thames to Kew Gardens, going towards what developers have labelled a mysterious Chiswick effect. Managing Director of Barratt West London, Adam Lawrence, said: Capital West, along with other new developments has absolutely transformed this neck of Brentford and has put it on the map. It has always been a fantastic location, overlooking an incredibly green stretch of the Thames, but with the old gasworks and industrial sites that were once here, it never used to be anyone's first choice. Capital West and neighbouring schemes have changed all that, and homebuyers and commentators are starting to talk about the Chiswick effect. What we have created now is Chiswick style without Chiswick prices. The views from Capital West - especially those from Meridian Tower are, quite frankly, as good as you will find in Richmond. The development, which includes a 98-room hotel and new premises for the Music Museum which is currently housed in St George's church, got under way after receiving final approval from the Government Office for London last year. It will provide over 170 homes for sale on the 4.3 acre site, which are accessed from a central avenue leading off the high street, while at the rear of the site there is a cascade of apartment blocks and a wide area of public open space. The luxury apartments, which sell from between £295,000 to £675,000 are all one, two and three-bedroom, while penthouses are at the top of each tower.
