Brentford Plan – Consultation on issues and options for the future of Brentford - deadline 25th July 2005

Hounslow Council is currently taking stock of the changes in Brentford and aims to produce a new plan for future development in Brentford.

The Brentford Plan will have a major influence on new development in the future. If you live, work or visit the area it will affect you in some way. There are decisions to be made and there will inevitably be differences of opinion

The Council needs to know how you would like to see Brentford evolve. Only by taking part in the consultation process can the new Brentford Plan reflect the hopes and aspirations of the local community.

The options questionnaire provides you with the opportunity to let us know your views by simply telling us whether you agree or disagree with various options. The questionnaire addresses some of the following:

• What choices do we need to make about housing in the area?
• How do you want to see Brentford Town Centre develop in the future?
• How much employment land do we need, and where should it be?
• What should be the future role of the Great West Road?
• How can we make better us of Brentford’s waterways?
• Are we making the best use of Brentford’s open spaces?
• Is noise becoming an increasing problem for Brentford residents?
• Are you concerned about air pollution in Brentford?
• How can we reduce the amount of waste produced in Brentford?
• Do existing health, community, education and social facilities serve the community well? Can they cope with increasing numbers of people?

To accompany the questionnaire is a document providing background information which may assist you in completing the questionnaire.

Please ensure your completed questionnaire is with them by the 25th July, 2005.

The outcomes of this consultation will inform the next stage in preparation of the Brentford Plan. This next stage will comprise preferred options which will be consulted on in January/February 2006.
