Car park gate extensions prove their worth

- 18-Sep-2005
Only days after installation the new security grill extensions above the car park gates prove effective in discouraging intruders.

Following a flurry of intruders and attempted intrusions into our car parks we had extensions installed to fill the gaps above the car park gates.

One day after the two gates - the entrance and exit to Building 2 - were completed two youths were seen on CCTV to walk around the back of the building and climb up to see if they could push their way through the new grills.

On failing at the entrance they progressed to the exit only to find the same thing - entry was now not possible over the top of the original gates. They did attempt to push the gates open but that also failed.

The youths then walked off empty handed.

Lets hope the word gets out amongst those intent on taking something from our car parks that we are no longer the easy target we once were.

Of course we do need to be vigilant in ensuring no one enters a car park when we drive into and out of the car parks but this is certainly good news that the new grills do work.
