Guide names Brentford among top of the docks

Brentford has been named as one of the top 10 places to dock.

The town has been listed in the British Waterways' Visit London by Water guide to boating around the capital, which willbe launched at the London Boat Show which starts this weekend.

The book says the variety of bars, restaurants and tourist attractions near Brentford's canals and riverbank set it apart from the competition.

"Brentford forms a link between the canal network and the Thames and is at the heart of an exciting regeneration project for west London. There are many new shops, restaurants and oubs and a number of top attractions nearby including Kew Gardens", said a spokesman for British Waterways.
