Holland Gardens Residents Community AGM 2006

- 15-Feb-2006
The Annual General Meeting of the Holland Gardens Residents Community is scheduled to take place on the evening of Thursday 02 March 2006.

As the current core Committee has been in place for 12 months now, our constitution requires us to conduct a new set of elections to the Committee. We are circulating a Proxy Voting Form (see link below) where you can indicate your preference for who should be on the Holland Gardens Residents Community Committee for the year ahead – yourself included. From these votes and from those at the forthcoming meeting, a core Committee of around 10 residents will be reformed and positions of Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer determined.

What has the Core Committee done for us in the last 12 months?

  • Lobbied and achieved a change of Head Concierge, resulting in improved services around the development
  • Lobbied and achieved a change in Property Manager, resulting in improved dialogue and a more workable relationship with Pembertons
  • Received official recognition from Pembertons and the landlord Solitaire Group plc, based upon the new relationship
  • Stopped a 10% increase for the Service Charge by setting the budget with Pembertons
  • Achieved a 16% reduction in personal electricity charges (to participating apartments)
  • Achieved reductions in communal electricity costs by switching to more favourable business tariffs, along with a considerable rebate for over charging in previous years
  • Introduced a new maintenance firm and achieved a higher standard of work undertaken
  • Regular liaison meetings with Barratt and Pemberton’s on snagging items (leaking car parks, dead trees, cleaning standards, etc)
  • Participated in discussions with a major developer to redevelop the Waterman’s Park section of the Thames.
So if you fancy getting involved in these activities or know someone who might want to, then add your opinion to the Proxy Form or see you at the AGM. Warning – this does require a sizeable time commitment and actual work (but less than before due to bullet items 1 & 2) – it’s not just a forum to catch up on what the neighbours are doing !! If you are unable to attend the meeting and wish to vote or nominate a candidate to serve on the Committee, please use the attached Proxy form.
